Nicole Ari Parker has worked on film, television as well as on stage. Her most well-known role was for playing Teri (the fierce attorney) Joseph. Nikki Kodjoe is her new name since she got married. Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland she showed an inclination toward acting since when she was a child and won the Best Actress prize at the Maryland high school competition. She received her degree in acting at New York University after working at 'The Washington Ballet Company' and on stage. The first role she played on screen in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love brought an immense amount of appreciation. There followed films like "Boogie Nights Spark" and Blue Streak. Soul Food was an immensely well-loved TV show. Her appearances were in TV shows such as Second Time Around, and Empire. In the beginning of her career she appeared in a variety of stage productions. Parker, who takes active interest in politics is married to model and actor Boris Kodjoe. They have two children.
Contractor, who was raised by his parents in Nigeria and Mumbai prior to turning seven, had traveled around all over the world and had a taste of diverse cultures when he was a kid. She was educated in an boarding school in London between 7 and 9. Then, the family was relocated away from London and moved to Toronto, Canada. Contractor achieved academic success in Toronto in addition to her training as the ballerina. She was a student at an Etobicoke School of the Arts which is a highly specialized public arts high school where she did not only dance but also studied theater. At 16 after a decade of years of dancing, Contractor decided to take up acting as a profession. Following her graduation from high school Contractor accepted a scholarship at The University of Toronto to pursue a dual major in sociology and psychology. She also earned a Master's degree in Theatre. Following a year at University, Contractor went to an open call audition for the show Pericles at the prestigious and renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and got the lead role. The play received rave reviews and her performances on the stage in 92 productions. the play was voted the production of the year by Canadian critics in 2002. She accepted the invitation to enroll in Stratford's conservatory, a program which allows just four men and eight females can attend a 20 weeks crash training in classical theater. Her place in the upcoming stage season was securing and she was offered the part as Hermia.
