Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale, the American professional basketball player for the Dallas Wings in the Women's National Basketball Association. She played for Notre Dame Fighting Irish in her college days before being drafted as the fifth pick overall by the Wings at the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale, was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin on March 2 1997. She was the second child of Yolanda Ogunbowale and Gregory Ogunbowale. Her brothers are Mario (26 years old) and Dare Ogunbowale (20 years old). Since she was the youngest of her siblings she was the most lavishly treated of her parents. The father of her Gregory was stationed in the Nigerian Army for quite some duration. Ogunbowale's family has an active family history. Her brother Dare is a professional footballer and her mom Yolanda used to play softball at DePaul. Her aunt played volleyball at UAPB as was their cousin Endia Oliver too plays Volleyball with Tennessee State. Ogunbowale is named to the honor roll of her school for the past three years. Ogunbowale is the recipient of Gold Medals at the 2013 U16 FIBA Americas Championships as well as the 2014 FIBA U17 world Championships and 2013 3x3 FIBA U18 World Championships. In July 7, 2014, she was added for the 2014 USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team following her initial year at a college.
